What is robotic surgery?

Robotic surgery is a minimally invasive surgical technique in which robotic systems are utilized in surgical procedures. These systems involve robotic arms that ensure the surgeon to control surgical instruments through a small console. The robotic arms perform the surgical intervention by transmitting the movements of the surgeon more precisely.

Robotic surgery has similar advantages to laparoscopic surgery, yet proposes the surgeon a larger three-dimensional image and more precise movement. This ensures complex surgical procedures to be performed more effectively and safely. Robotic surgery can be utilized in the stomach, intestine, colon and rectum, prostate and many other surgical areas.
