Gastric tumor is a body formed as a result of abnormal cell growth in gastric tissue. Such tumors are generally classified as benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous). Stomach tumors are often identified with malignant tumors named as stomach cancer.
Stomach tumors might cause certain symptoms, however, symptoms often vary depending on the type and size of the tumor. Some prevalent symptoms may involve anemia, indigestion, abdominal pain, a feeling of fullness in the abdomen, weight loss, nausea, and vomiting.
Diagnosis and treatment usually include methods such as endoscopy, imaging tests, and biopsy. Treatment options may include surgical removal of whole or part of the stomach, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, or targeted therapies, depending on the type of tumor, its stage, and the patient’s general health. The treatment plan generally requires a multidisciplinary approach.
